Cascade Locks, located along the Columbia River, was once the site of a boom town called Whiskey Flats. Today, it is a small community of approximately 1100 and a must-stop location in the Columbia Gorge. Cascade Locks has a terrific waterfront marine park with a marina and boat launch, picnic areas, playground and more. Cascade Locks is also home to the Columbia Gorge Sternwheeler and the Bridge of the Gods, which crosses over into Washington State. Cascade Locks is 45 minutes from Portland International Airport on I-84 East (Exit 44) and 20 minutes west of Hood River. Cascade Locks is directly across the river from Stevenson, Washington. Mt Hood is just 40 minutes from Cascade Locks.

Bridge of the Gods -
A famous scenic bridge across the Columbia River, named for legendary natural stone bridge whose rocks lie beneath the water just upstream. Built in 1926, it was raised in 1938 to provide clearance for rising water behind Bonneville Dam.
Historical Museum -
View the old locks, the first NW steam locomotive and historical artifacts, at Marine Park, open May-Sept, 12-5pm.
