Happening both Wednesdays and Saturdays. Saturdays, June 2 - October 13, 2012 from 9-1 pm and Wednesdays, June 13 - September 26, 2012 from 4-7 pm. Located at The Dalles City Park, 5th and Union Street, in downtown The Dalles, OR.
Fresh eggs harvested that morning, sweet and juicy fruits ready for you to take a bite, crisp colorful vegetables full of flavor, pasture-raised meats or fresh salmon ready to hit your grill, dazzling bouquets of cut flowers to grace your table, pies, jams, and so much more.
That is what you might find at one of the 10 farmers’ markets scattered around the Gorge, from Goldendale in the East to Stevenson on the West, Trout Lake in the North and Maupin in the South. Tourists and locals alike gather at these weekly markets to witness the local color, taste some of the Gorge bounty, hear live music, and socialize with friends. You really get to know a community through its farmers’ market, like the huckleberry cinnamon rolls and hand-made quilts at the Trout Lake market or the famous Mosier cherries at their Sunday evening market. The Thursday night Gorge Grown market in Hood River is known for being the picnic spot, with a variety of produce, meats, cheeses, and hot foods to enjoy with friends on a blanket while listening to live music.
Why not add a visit to one of the region’s farmers market in your next visit to the Gorge or to your weekly routine if you live here? You will not only please your palate, but also support many of the region’s talented, hardworking farmers, ranchers, food artisans and crafters. We’ll see you at the markets!
