Maryhill Museum of Art has presented exhibitions of outdoor sculpture annually since 1996. In 2012, four sculptors will loan works to complement the 12 sculptures that make up the museum’s permanent collection. The borrowed works will be located throughout the museum grounds and provide a dramatic outdoor art experience.


VISITING MARYHILL MUSEUM OF ART

Maryhill Museum of Art is located off Highway 97, 12 miles south of Goldendale, Washington. The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., March 15 to November 15. Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $3 for youth age 7-18 and free for children 6 and under. Family admission is $25 to admit 2 adults, plus related children under the age of 18.

Gourmet coffees, beverages, deli food, individual wine and cheese platters, homemade baked goods and desserts are available at the museum’s café, Loie’s, which is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Seating is available inside and outdoors within view of the Columbia River and Mt. Hood. The Museum Store features art and history books, jewelry, and other mementos.

Travel four miles east of the museum to Sam Hill’s replica of England’s Stonehenge, built as a tribute to the soldiers of Klickitat County who lost their lives in World War I. Admission to the Stonehenge Memorial is free; it is open from 7:00 a.m. to dusk daily. Nearby, the Klickitat County War Memorial was erected in 1995 to honor those who have died in the service of their country since World War I.
