WHAT HAPPENED TO KOBERG BEACH? - YOUTH PROGRAM

Presented by The History Museum

Wednesday, July 11, 2012
9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Program at the museum and Koberg Beach Park
Hood River, OR

Koberg’s Beach was the place to be on a hot day in the 1920s and 30s. Hood River County’s waterfront jewel featured an Italian stone dance pavilion, a water wheel, giant slides, and a beautiful sandy beach. What happened to this fantastic place? Where’s the beach and pavilion today? Participants will study photos and artifacts at the museum and then travel to the beach to view the ruins of the pavilion and discover the people, plants, and animals that are there today. Enjoy a picnic lunch at the beach, make a special treat back at the museum, and take home a souvenir photo. Ages 7-14.
